After several layers of paint was removed it revealed that the masonry and the terracotta had been rendered with neat cement, creating another problem as the cement was harder than the masonry. This made sand blasting out of the question, proving what sometimes seems impossible can be achieved with the right craftsmen, adding to the value of the property at the same time.
