The customer contacted us with concerns about deteriorating bricks and signs of damp, but also wanted to know whether anything could be done to improve the overall appearance of the property.
Following an assessment and discussion of the options, it was decided that the most appropriate approach was to repoint the brickwork using lime mortar carefully matched to the existing mortar, helping to retain the character and appearance of the original masonry.
The property was also professionally chemically cleaned to remove accumulated dirt and staining and reveal more of the original colour and character of the brickwork.
The combination of sympathetic lime mortar repointing and careful cleaning transformed the appearance of the property, giving the masonry a finish much closer to how it would have looked when originally built.
